WHY WE MADE THESE CARDS
Because we were WSET students too.
We remember the exact feeling. You’ve read the same page three times. You know that cool climates produce higher acidity wines. You know that warm climates produce more alcohol. But the moment someone asks you why a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc tastes so different from a Sancerre, you’re stuck.
Because knowing the facts is not the same as seeing the connection.
As an educator, Petar kept watching students hit the same wall. They could recite the bullet points. They couldn’t connect them. And connecting them is exactly what WSET Level 2 tests.
So we built a visual system that makes the connection obvious.

Are these officially from WSET? No — these are independently made by Petar Velickovic, DipWSET and WSET Certified Educator. They’re a study supplement, not official WSET materials.

Can I use these for WSET Level 3 too? Yes. Climate and environmental factors are fundamental to Level 3 as well — understanding how cool, moderate, and warm conditions affect style is essential for the written exam. These cards give you a solid foundation for both levels.
Do I need the Grape Variety Cards as well, or are these enough on their own? These are fully standalone. The Climate and Appellations Cards give you the logic layer — how climate shapes style. The Grape Variety Cards apply that logic to each specific grape. They’re complementary but neither requires the other.
I’m not taking WSET — are these still useful? Definitely. If you work in hospitality, you love wine, or you just want to finally understand why wines taste the way they do, these cards work for you too. No exam required.
