What is wine?
Session 1 introduces what wine is, the main parts of a grape, and how fermentation turns grape sugar into alcohol (ABV).

Growing grapes
Session 2 explains the grapevine cycle from flowering to ripening and how grape components change as they mature. It also introduces what grapes need to ripen well and how climate and location shape acidity, sugar, tannin, and flavors.

Making Wines
Session 3 explains the key steps of winemaking, including crushing, pressing, fermentation, draining, and aging. It also compares the basic production sequences for white, red, and rose wines and highlights when color and tannin are extracted.

Types and Styles of Wine
Session 4 introduces the main types and styles of wine, including still, sparkling, and fortified, and explains key features such as sweetness, acidity, tannin, alcohol, and body. It also covers where aromas come from (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and gives simple examples to help you recognize them.

Examples of Wines
Session 6 introduces key classic wine regions and styles, including Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, and famous examples from Italy, Spain, and Portugal. It also helps you match common wines to their grape varieties, sweetness level, and typical aroma and structure.

Wine Service
Session 7 covers practical wine service, including correct storage conditions, how to open still and sparkling wines safely, and choosing the right glass. It also reviews recommended serving temperatures and simple ways to preserve wine after opening.

Zinfandel/Primitivo
This is a grape variety that has established its reputation in two different countries. In California in the USA it is called Zinfandel; in Italy , notably in southern region of Puglia, it is called Primitivo.

Riesling
Riesling is a cold-hardy white grape that prefers cool to moderate climates. With its naturally high acidity and susceptibility to botrytis/noble rot, i is suitable for the production of outstanding-quality wines at all sweetness levels. Today Riesling is produced across the world in a variety of styles.
